ZIPP 404 650c / 26 inch carbon clincher with aluminum brake flank and Bitex hubs with titanium quick release
The 404 rim with its 58mm rim profile is a classic in ZIPP's range, whose origins date back to the early 1990s. To this day, racers win with the 404 rims from flat races such as the Queen K to mountain stages on L'Alpe d'Huez. Because with the rim shape, the rim has the right properties to win any race on any terrain. Whether racing bike, triathlon, track bike, the 404 feels at home everywhere, from fast criteriums to steep mountain stages. D
The ultra-light Bitex RAF10 front hub is significantly more robust than other products in this weight class thanks to its 4-fold bearings and impresses with its permanently smooth running. The Bitex RAR9 rear hub with 4-fold bearings is a reliable companion and the cleverly designed 6-pawl Shimano/Sram 11/10/9s aluminum freewheel body with steel inserts prevents the well-known seizure of cassettes in aluminum freewheels. The elegant titanium quick releases complement the wheelset perfectly. Visually clean and with an enchanting weight, they are just right for this wheelset.
The wheels are built entirely by hand in Germany by experienced wheel builders, who not only pay attention to the concentricity, but also guarantee even spoke tension. Laced with Sapim CX Ray or DT Swiss Aerolite in black, depending on availability. Laced with silver or black aluminum nipples, depending on availability.

Zipp

Motorsport engineer Leigh Sargent was actually specialized in perfecting the aerodynamics of Indy 500 vehicles. As the passionate cyclist became more and more involved with carbon wheels and disc wheels, he recognized the potential and founded the Zipp company in Indianapolis, the cradle of American motorsports. Two years after its foundation, the first Ironman in Hawaii was won with Zipp wheels. Already an insider tip in triathlon, it took until 2000 for the US brand to make the leap into professional cycling to the Belgian Lotto team. Ever since the company equipped the CSC team in 2003, it has been a major player in cycling.
